One of the greatest challenges that you will face during the Christmas season is "I love Christmas". For as long as I can remember, I have always tried to find a way to show my loved ones how much I love them and appreciate them on the day of Christmas. Through the years, I have gained a lot of knowledge in showing my family how much I love them by participating in the Christmas market. Not only do I enjoy the hustle and bustle of the traditional Christmas market, I also get to spend some quality time with my loved ones.
I love Christmas days because I can finally relax in the back yard after a hard day at work. I love going out to the bazaar and I have enjoyed watching the colorful families with their wonderful decorations for months. What I love most about Christmas is spending time in the comfort of my own home. However, I quickly learned that the hustle and bustle of the traditional Christmas day had its downsides.
As I look around the back yard, I can see the crowds of people milling around, gathering and trading gifts. When I go out to the market, I have to pretend to be an adult because the kids laugh at me and say things I don't want to hear. I quickly learned to say "Thank you" to every person I meet and avoid saying "Happy holidays" because they say that to me and I say thank you. I have never been able to say that gracefully before and it took me a long time to learn how to say that gracefully.
So, I started to bake a homemade dessert and I decided to name it after the lady that gave me the most precious gift ever: My mother. After I had the recipe ready, I set out to find something to decorate the cake with since I was thinking of giving her an Easter gift she will cherish forever. I love Easter and I love food so it was only fitting to use that as the theme for this food safari. I decided to name my homemade food holiday "I Love Christmas Days".
I love all the things about Christmas. I love the atmosphere, the shopping malls, the food, the party favors, the beautiful red and green colors on the trees, the house warming ornaments and Christmas crackers. I love the simplicity of Christmas and all the fun I have with the season. I love my mom and all the things she has taught me throughout the years. I love the freshness of spring and summer and all I do to celebrate is sit in the house and eat cookies or cupcakes.
I love story cakes because I love baking and cooking. I love to read book reports and cookbook articles in the kitchen and I love the stories a story cakes tell. I have baked cakes for most of my life and love to entertain friends and family with my cakes by telling them stories and making them smile with my creative and beautiful creations.
One story that my kids tell me all the time is how I went to visit my grandma in the nursing home. My grandpa was the director of a very popular nursing home. She loved to bake pretty christmas cakes for everyone who came through the doors during the holidays. This past year I got to visit her in her home and help her celebrate her 65th year in the business. This was a real eye opener for me because she had never really thought about why she baked those special cakes.
She said that she got the inspiration for her Christmas cakes from a picture of Santa Claus and a little boy saying "Merry Christmas!" She told me that when she created her first one using this image and this sentiment in it, that she got so busy thinking about how to make it perfect that she forgot to write the name of the cake "Batson's Baking Oven". So this Christmas I am going to buy her a brand new Santa Claus Baking Oven and help her celebrate her first Christmas without her Grandpa! I am sure that she will love you for it.
